There are several types of materials, among them rubber and polyurethane. For operations where a more noble finish is required on metal surfaces, microcellular polyurethane can be chosen (also known as Vulkolan), that besides the durability superior to other materials, has faster memory power, bigger than rubber for example, thus guaranteeing a kind of faster pressure compensation. That, in conjunction with the pneumatic pressure compensation systems of the sanding units, offer a part surface with better uniformity.
